Dear Dr. Kanazawa,
I am astonished as a professional of Ethiopian origin to see that you published a very racist paper based on the simple validation of IQs, a very unscientific method to classify people into intelligent and less intelligent. Although your allegation is not new considering your country’s serious human right abuse and Hitler’s holocaust on the less deprived or “weak” people of China, Philippines, Korea, Europe and the Jews, your scientific approach to show the unscientific nature of the prejudices harbored in you emanates just from the background your were raised in.
We Ethiopians and people of Ethiopian origin residing in the West know that it is abusiveness to describe the whole nation and nations of Africa and Blacks living in the whole world as barbarians with diminutive brain power. Your research paper a research misfit formulated to fit the old “master people” of the Axis powers is relentlessly trying to equate disease with life expectancy. Have you ever heard of the tropical scourges, devouring many people in Africa and elsewhere in the tropics by the killers such as Mosquito, AIDS, Tsetse fly, etc., which have not yet found remedies? Have you ever imagined what would be the fate of Japan or other “enlightened” people as you, had there been such lethal diseases as the ones mentioned above? Or have you ever thought why there is no priority in medicinal research to get rid of these noxious parasites and viruses?
The problem, as I see it is the old problem of odd people in the name of science misusing science as a podium for spreading their lies, balderdash, bias and racism as incontrovertible facts. First your scientific approach of relating IQ to disease and then your blind belief on how the collection of empirical data from the 126 countries might reflect on the intelligence of black people with the usual jargons can lend support to the extremist neo-Nazist and fascist organizations. Shortly your methodology and the conclusions derived from is humbug with no scientific essence and content.
The problem above all is also how such a “scientific paper” can be accepted by the strictest journals with peer-review routines of the highest quality. Has the British Journal of Health Psychology become another type of gutter press under the name of free scientific thinking and liberty? The London School of Economics has also a responsibility not to ally itself with such nefarious people, while presenting itself as a topnotch education/research institution representing all citizens from all corners of the world.
Without bias to you or your fellows
